FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers to help you
Beatland is a decentralised music label through an NFT music platform, allowing fans to be rewarded for the support they provide to their favourite artists. Beatland also allows artists to earn more, gain visibility, and remain independent.
A music royalty NFT is a certificate of ownership (digital master copy) of a song, giving rights to the owner to receive a part of the royalties generated by the song. Only a limited amount are created per song (5000 in average) and only the owners can benefit from it and decide to
re-sell them.
An initial coin offering (ICO) is the cryptocurrency industry's equivalent to an initial public offering (IPO). A company seeking to raise money to create a new coin, app, or service can launch an ICO as a way to raise funds.
We do not keep any rights from the music sold as NFT on the marketplace. Only the artist and the NFT holders (fans) own rights of the music. The holders can re-sell them on the platform if they wish.
BTLD is the governance token of the Beatland ecosystem. It allows you voting rights in the DAO for important decisions regarding the ecosystem. BTLD is also used for rewarding the holders of music royalty NFTs. The more the ecosystem grows, the more the value of the token should grow.
We are currently building the ICO dashboard, where you will be able to purchase the BTLD token. You can already contact us for the private sale of the token using the form available on our website.
The token will be released in September, after the end of the second private sale and after the launch of the NFT marketplace.
Private sale investors will have a vesting of 15 months (release of the 7% of their tokens per month). Public sale 1 investors will have a vesting of 7 months (release of 15% of their tokens per month). The founders have a vesting of 4 years, and a cliff of 2 years.
The music is distributed to more than 30 streaming platforms. The music is also registered for performance rights: royalty music owners earn everytime the music is played on radio, in a nightclub and festivals.
NFT is a technology certifying the ownership of a digital asset. Its value comes from the digital asset behind it. Our NFTs are backed by the music produced by singers all over the world and include fractions of their streaming and music rights revenue on the song included in the NFT. Therefore, our NFTs are profit-generating music collectibles.
Songs have always been and will remain available on streaming platforms like Spotify or Deezer... The difference with Beatland's NFTs is that only NFT holders of a particular song will own a master original copy of it and will be able to earn from the streamings of the song all over the planet. Therefore, everytime that song will be played by people on the planet, only the NFT holders will earn revenues from it along with the artist.
A song bought on Itunes or any similar platform only gives rights to listen to it. On the other hand, owning one of the rare NFT copies of it gives you rights to not only listen to it, but also own it and earn revenues from its streaming and commercial uses.
An ICO is a regulated process and according to the regulation in force, we have to comply with KYC requirements.
Beatland comply with the regulation of the United Kingdom (where the company is registered) and the United Arab Emirates (where the company is headquartered).
The music rights are managed for every music through the collaboration of the artist and other owners of the rights, our legal team and the distribution partner.
Our distribution partner pays the artist percentage of the royalties directly to the artist and Beatland receives the percentage owed to the NFT holders. The percentage of every holder is then automatically airdropped to the NFT holders thanks to the smart contract.
